TOK, we d
It's pouring.
The forecast was ironclad. Thunder storms rolling through.
Two minutes ago I coasted into a drive-thru parking spot at Lowe's, with sun overhead. THEN it went dark as the inside of a Scotsman's kilt. AND rain fell. MONSOON rain, deep immediately.
In three minutes blue sky came poking through again. I stopped reading the Wall Street Journal.
This guy passes my windshield. He's got some purchase huddled in his shopping cart. The wipers swipe. His T-shirt says TRUMP. Black letters on an athletic-gray T-shirt. He's not in great shape. But I'm worse. I watch him go to his ride, a recent Mustang. He unloads. It's storming! He leaves his shopping cart beside his Mustang. He rushes inside. The wind blows harder. HIS shopping cart starts rolling. It crosses the path of one departing car. That person brakes and waits. Then his shopping cart races before the wind, across the path of another departing car. At this point TRUMP-shirt starts to see that he's not alone on the planet. And maybe it occurs to him that it's incredibly irresponsible to just let his shopping cart wend its way across acres of common parking, at the whim of the wind. So he begins tracking his cart.
That's when I lost him.
