A client writes (admittedly, she's on vacation so there could be mai-tai poisoning) that the word "change" in a proposed campaign theme for their who-knows-how-many-million$ capital campaign is probably verboten ... why? ... because "change" was Obama's theme (remember him?). And the election looks iffy. Ah, DC thinking; it's like nowhere else. The "thinking" goes: Maybe we don't want our capital campaign associated with that potential loser's theme, you know? Could be a jinx? If she persists in this vein, I will have to award her one of my merit badges of distinction, "Masterfully overthought!"
