I was reading something off the news, an opinion piece, and could feel the muscles in my neck begin to contract. "Oh my god," I'm wondering, "what if he's right?" Then I saw his political affiliation: R for Republican.
Nevermind. These poor souls have nothing to offer. And they had eight years to prove that point. Zombie ideologues unite! You have nothing to lose but your relevancy - to the world as it actually works.

I used to consider the R a legit choice, just different from mine. Now it is a mark against someone...I hate to say it but it is!
A twitter bud who is a fundraiser and progressive joyfully sent me the link to this post, thrilled at the confirmation of your political leanings. I'm sure it was partially a feeling of relief that she could trust what you wrote because you were not a Republican. Sad statement as to where we have wound up, but not one of our (Progressives) making.
